Our Mission
The mission of the Orlando Community School of the Arts is to enrich the lives of people in the greater Orlando area by providing the highest quality of music and arts experiences and learning opportunities, delivered in a Christian environment and from a Biblical worldview. "
From a Biblical worldview, music and its performance is a gift from the Creator God, our heavenly Father. Scripturally, music was the primary artistic gift given by God to lead His people in corporate worship. As such, the primary focus of this particular artistic gift should be first as an act of worship through worship leadership/worship participation, and secondarily as a cultural performance (concert) outlet. Music and the other arts are to be skillfully studied, executed, and joyfully experienced.
Psalm 33:3 "… play skillfully and with a shout of joy!"
2 Samuel 24:24 "…I will not sacrifice to the Lord that which has cost me nothing."
Arts Instruction Philosophy
The Orlando Community School of the Arts and the Worship Arts Ministry of First Presbyterian Church Orlando believe that the Arts are foundational for the development of all people and come from our Heavenly Father, the Creator God. We believe instruction should be educationally solid: taught by degreed and/or highly qualified instructors who are committed to the development of the student and who nurture a love of the arts. OCSA instruction is based on classical foundations in all art forms. Read More...
